Socorro is a licensed Mental Health Counselor. He earned his M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Manhattan College and a M.A. in Spirituality from Fordham University. Before coming to Cornell, Socorro worked at The Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy. While working for Mental Health Service Corps (MHSC), he received training in Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Problem-Solving Therapy (PST), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). At present, he works with adults experiencing a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation.
