Victoria Wilkins

Assistant Professor of Psychology in Clinical Psychiatry, Weill Cornell Medicine Assistant Attending Psychologist, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital

Dr. Victoria Wilkins is Assistant Professor of Psychology in Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and Assistant Attending Psychologist on the Affective Disorders Unit (6 North) and the Women’s Unit (6 South) at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Westchester Behavioral Health Center.  During her career, she has provided cognitive-behavioral therapy to older adults in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and home visits.  Her research interests include mood disorders and suicidality in older adults as well as coping with chronic illness and disability and the involvement of family caregivers.  She maintains a small private practice in which she conducts CBT with adults of all ages, with emphases in loss and bereavement, coping with chronic health conditions, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. 

Dr. Wilkins graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. from Ursinus College.  She has an MSc. in Psychology & Health from the University of Stirling in Scotland and an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University.  She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University after completion of her predoctoral internship at the San Francisco VA Medical Center.  She received postdoctoral clinical training in geropsychology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, specializing in palliative care and bereavement.  She also completed T32 postdoctoral training in geriatric psychiatry research at the Institute of Geriatric Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine.
